Gryphon Thoughts

Ready or not, here it comes!

11/3/2023

Get ready for winter with Gryphon.

There’s a nip in the air and it feels like Old Man Winter is ready to make his grand entrance any day now.

It’s hard when the time comes to put the bike away and hang up the gear. But just like how you take time and prepare your bike for its long winter's nap, your Gryphon gear needs some extra love and care before being put away too.

There are a few must follow steps to get your gear ready for winter storage:

1. Clean
It is so important to store your gear as clean as possible. Gryphon motorcycle jackets are washable, but it is important to follow the proper care guidelines (FAQ - Gryphonmoto.com).
Remember: not following the proper care instructions can void your warranty!

2. Dry
It is very important to ensure that your gear is dried thoroughly to avoid getting mold and mildew. Just remember to NEVER put your Gryphon motorcycle clothing in the dryer and NEVER use fabric softeners.

3. Store
We recommend storing your motorcycle jacket and pants in a cotton garment bag. This will keep it clean and protected from sunlight and still allow airflow. Hang your Gryphon gear on a sturdy hanger that will support your jacket’s weight and keep the shape. Hang in a well-ventilated area. Be sure to avoid storing in a damp or humid space and keep away from direct sunlight. If you can, we also advise to hang in a way that no other items touch your gear so the air can continue to circulate well.

4. Check on your gear throughout the winter
This may sound silly, but it is a good idea to check on your Gryphon gear, every now and then, throughout the off season so if there are any problems, you can catch it early on.

Following these easy steps before you put your gear away means you can get back on two wheels that much faster again in the spring!

And with that, let the countdown begin...
