How do I take care of my textile Gryphon products?
Hand washing is always recommended.
Remove all protective armor and use a mild, liquid detergent. All detergent residue needs to be fully rinsed out of your garment for maximum performance. We recommend liquid detergent because it has fewer surfactants.
Hang your textile garment to dry at room temperature. DO NOT place items in dryer, you will risk the damage to seam seal treatment along with reflective detailing.
If you have a heavily soiled area(s), for the best result we recommend to pre-treat area with a pre-wash spray. Please follow your pre-wash spray instructions for the best results (Shout has worked effectively for us).
DO NOT use cleaning products, such as washing powder, that contain bleach, solvents or other chemical products. DO NOT scrub waterproof or breathable membranes. If your item comes with multiple layers (Thermal, Puffer) please wash these layers separately.
DO NOT iron garments. NEVER use any fabric softeners; they will destroy the functionality of the membrane.
We recommend spraying your clothing monthly with 3M Scotchguard protective spray. Please take care in areas containing rubberized design elements as the spray will cause damage to these areas.
When not in use, your item must be stored in a dry space. For best result a cotton garment bag will offer the best protection during a prolonged storage period.
*Improper care will void your warranty

How do I take care of my leather Gryphon products?
Make your leather water resistant. There are many "leather protector/leather waterproofing" products available but it is important to read labels carefully before buying. A silicone polymer spray, or an acrylic co-polymer spray, should preserve your leather's appearance and shine. Grease-based or wax-based products are more protective, but not recommended for jackets due to their potential effect on color, longevity, shine, and smell. Check the label on your product to find out how long the water resistance lasts. Typically, the product needs to be re-applied once every several weeks or months. While this treatment will make the leather jacket resistant to water damage, it will not be fully waterproof, even if the treatment claims otherwise. Never immerse a leather jacket in water or place it in a washing machine.
Apply leather conditioner occasionally. Rubbing in leather conditioner restores oil to the leather, preventing excessive dryness and cracking, but too much oil can clog the pores and affect the jacket's color or longevity. Only apply leather conditioner when the jacket starts to feel dry or stiff. Some tips for choosing a product:
Polish smooth leather jackets on rare occasions. Leather polish will bring a shine to your jacket, but has the potential to discolor, dry out, or clog the leather surface. Use this for special occasions, and test on a hidden area first before using a new product. Buff with a cloth until a glossy surface is created. DO NOT polish suede or other leather with a soft, fuzzy texture. It is not possible to make suede glossy without permanently removing this texture. DO NOT use shoe polish, even if it is intended for leather shoes.
Remove salt deposits with a damp cloth. In damp, winter conditions, white salt deposits can form on leather. Wipe the salt off with a damp cloth promptly, to avoid dry spots and cracks. Let the leather air dry, then apply conditioner to the affected area.
Let wet leather air dry. If your Gryphon jacket gets wet, hang it evenly on a hanger to dry at room temperature. Remove objects from the pockets to avoid stretching the wet leather, and keep it away from direct heat sources, such as radiators or airing cupboards. Apply conditioner after drying, if the leather had become thoroughly soaked.

Only apply leather conditioner when the jacket starts to feel dry or stiff. Some tips for choosing a product:
- Check the label to make sure it is suitable for your type of leather. (This is mostly important for Nubuck or Suede jackets.)
- Ideally, use pure mink oil, or other natural animal oils, but be aware that this may darken the leather.
- Products that contain wax or silicone can dry out the leather, however may be a less expensive option that causes less of a color change. Use sparingly.
- Never use products that contains mineral oil or petroleum or “saddle soap”, which can cause significant damage.

How Did Gryphon Start?
"Let's start a 'Protective Motorcycle Clothing' Brand!" And there is certainly no shortage of them. The upside to the available options in the market is that it forced Gryphon to think outside the box with designs in order to put themselves at the forefront of a competitive market.
I was fortunate enough to grow up in the best industry in the world, within one of the best parts of it. When I say best, I don’t mean wealthy or safe or anything like that. I mean best based on my experiences and opportunities to view the full marketplace. Having the opportunity to travel the world developing life long relationships based on the love of motorcycles in a career spanning 42 years. A career that allowed me to take part in product development and design, laying the foundation for a keen understanding of the market needs.
On top of that, I believe I grew up in the Golden Age of motorcycles. With a career beginning in the '70s, I have been exposed to many influential subcultures that have molded today's motorcycle industry. The birth of the Sport Bike, Sport Touring, Gold Wing, the explosion of Harley Davidson, the coming of age of Adventure Touring, development of the Naked Bike and the timeless Café Racer.
Gryphon is the culmination of these experiences allowing for the creation of a product line based on sound fundamentals of quality and design. We look to develop an unbeatable riding experience that will provide you the peace of mind to enjoy the ride.
