Gryphon is proud to be the official riding gear of Appalachian ADV. I’m sure you have seen posts on social media with mentions of Kane and Appalachian ADV but have you had the chance to really look into it? Maybe not. So allow me to tell you. Kane Wagner is the founder and owner of Appalachian ADV, where his mission is to promote the ADV and Dual Sport styles of motorbiking through various media formats, education and safety and hosting group rides, rallies, and guided tours. Now, if you’ve only ever been a street rider, adventure motorbiking may not be something you want to just jump into blindly, but Kane can help with that too! He offers various beginner and intermediate clinics throughout the season so you can gain experience and confidence before hitting the trail. In short, if you’re looking for a two-wheeled adventure and you’re in the Ohio area, Kane is the guy to call! For about a year now, Kane has been an Ambassador for Gryphon and has Gryphon's textile jackets including the full mesh Warrior, the mesh transition Tucson, and the 4-season Vancouver jacket. For pants, Kane has worn the Gryphon mesh Hi-Flo pants and Indy pants. He has also been wearing the Cabot leather gloves and mesh Sahara gloves and he has been sure to put it all through the wringer. Kane does not ride like the average person. This gear has been through it! When Kane is not hosting tours and clinics, he is out scouting new and challenging trails to be sure to always keep the adventure fresh for returning riders. And yea, it’s hard work and sometimes crashes happen. Aside from the normal wear and tear the Gryphon gear has stood up to this ultimate test and came out on the other side ready for the next adventure. The different styles of jackets have done what they need to do. They have kept him dry on wet days, warm in the cold, cool in the heat of the summer and most importantly, protected! The pants and gloves haven’t fallen short of expectations either. But don’t just take our word for it, here’s what Kane has to say himself: “A small-business run by a husband and wife team that makes high quality gear at affordable prices. They have used their many years of experience in the motorcycle industry to figure out where to trim the fat but maintain high standards of quality. I have been partnered with them for a year and have been thoroughly impressed with their products, business philosophy, and, well, them. Great people. One of our Clinic riders reached out to me about riding gear earlier this year, specifically about Gryphon. I gave him my impressions of the company and the specific gear I have actually used. He had questions about some of their other selections and I recommended he reach out to Gryphon directly. This is a quoted response emailed to me after he reached out to Gryphon: "This morning I actually called and left a message at Gryphon, to ask some specific questions about the gear in question. Just over an hour later I got a call from Gary Cuzner, I was floored, I was actually speaking to the owner of the company. He took all kinds of time, answered all my questions. I ended up ordering the Indy pants, Blue Ridge jacket and a pair of Cabot gloves... How cool is that?" That is the dedication of a customer-centric organization...pretty cool indeed.“ – Kane Wagner Kane is also an Ambassador for Backcountry Discovery Routes (BDR) for Adventure Motorcycling and has been certified as a Road Captain and Trail Boss with the American Motorcyclist Association (AMA)
